"Les Petits Lacs"
Charming area accessible only by foot, the Little Lakes region is situated midway between the Col des Mosses and the summit of Pic Chaussy. A place where it’s not unusual to cross paths with a marmot or an ibex.
Three small stretches of clear water created by the melting snow together make up the trio « Near the Lakes », more commonly known as « The Little Lakes ». Along the route that takes you up to the summit of Pic Chaussy these pretty pools, set against a background of rocky hillsides and pastures, are the perfect place for a rest stop. At the height of the day, the sun heats up this picturesque idyll enticing all passers by to take a break there.
The rocky outcrops on the outskirts of the pools give shelter to numerous wild animals. It’s impossible not to hear the marmot’s whistle or the click of the ibex’s hooves. Look more closely and you may just get the chance to spot them too.
