The Col des Mosses region offers an area and environment ideal for ski-touring. Whether it’s to take your first steps on touring skis or to hone your skills in this discipline, there are plenty of pretty circuits on offer.
These ski touring routes are neither pisted nor maintained. They form part of the natural terrain of intermediate and high mountain tracks and as such are skied at your own risk. Safety equipment (spade, probe, avalanche victim detector) as well as a knowledge of what conditions to expect in the mountains in winter are indispensable.
For the more fit and experienced, Pic Chaussy is a super ski touring challenge – a summit where the direct ascent is made from the Col des Mosses with an option to go via Lake Lioson or the Small Lakes. Once at the top, the spectacular panorama provides the ultimate reward for skiers.
