The regional nature park Gruyère Pays d’Enhaut

The regional nature park Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut illustrates the natural lushness and the agropastoral culture of the Pre-Alps. The cradle of Gruyère AOC and Etivaz AOC is recognised as a site of national importance.

Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut regional Nature Park

The regional nature park Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut covers an area of 518 square km and has a population of 12,000. This nature park in the Pre-Alps of the Lake Geneva and Fribourg Region is the cradle of a joint culture in terms of cattle breeding, cheesemaking, folklore and armaillis (mountain farmers). Gruyère AOC and Etivaz AOC come from this region.

The regional nature park Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut proposes the following discovery routes: GRAND TOUR, a 10-day hike for experienced walkers, and CHEMINS DE GRUYERE offering itineraries on historic cheese and Alpine trails. The park also proposes visits with middle mountain guides to observe the fauna and to discover the architectural heritage of some villages or nature reserves.
